I have a working database in mysql. I tried to access the database from Libreoffice following the steps of this tuto: https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-connect-libreoffice-base-to-a-remote-mysql-database/ In particular, I have: - installed mysql-connector-java - added the JDBC Connector to LibreOffice - started to create a new database - selected to create a connector Mysql using JDBC - tested the Mysql JDBC connector class (OK) - provided my information about mysql database: server 127.0.0.1, default port, database name - tested the connection to the database, providing user name and password. At this step, the application becomes unresponsive. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Libreoffice 5.3.7 mysql-connector-java-5.1.42-1.mga6.noarch java mariadb-10.1.38-1.mga6.x86_64 java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.201-1.b09.2.mga6.x86_64 How reproducible: always

mysql can now be connected from Libreoffice without JDBC connector, by a direct connection, starting from Libreoffice 6.2.
My up-to-date Mageia 6 system has libreoffice-*-6.1.5.2-1.2.mga6 @Thierry: are we likely to see Libreoffice 6.2 in Mageia 6? If not, this bug should be pursued; I am surprised that Papoteur is the first to hit it for M6.
