+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #24134 +++ Description of problem: Log into Xfce (Gdm) and the screen distorts for 4 seconds (nothing is readable, many colours mixed like Van Gogh painting dots) Graphics are: Amdgpu Stoney (Radeon R2/R3/R4/R5 graphics) Install was from Mageia7 beta3 classical installer (round 3) After 4 second problem is gone This seems to be quite similar to Bug# 24134 with Intel Graphics there. My machine may be recognised from the report.bug i attach in the next comment; briefly: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/QA_iso_hardware_list -> Notebooks -> dvgevers

(In reply to Dick Gevers from comment #0) > +++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #24134 +++ It *is* a duplicate of the other, whose title covers this case: "Xfce video tearing at login" > > This seems to be quite similar to Bug# 24134 with Intel Graphics there. I also have reported the same problem on the other bug, with ATI graphics. It does not seem to be hardware specific. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 24134 ***

Whatever... I asked on #qa beforehand whether to comment or report separately and was told to report it anew....
(In reply to Dick Gevers from comment #3) > Whatever... I asked on #qa beforehand whether to comment or report > separately and was told to report it anew.... Apologies. You were ill advised. -------------------------------- I owe you and Frank apologies, but the evidence has disappeared! [Has somebody wise deleted comments & edited the offending one c2?] There was a supporting comment from Frank; he & yourself mentioned Display Managers. I replied with a really stupid comment [in c2] saying this was about desktops (stupid because this bug *is* about a specific one, Xfce); and doubting the relevance of DMs (which are indeed a relevant factor): https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24134#c3 It was late, I was tired, I was ga-ga. Sorry to both of you anyway.
Re the previous comment: wrong bug, no apologies were called for! I was ga-ga to post c4.
