Description of problem: I just ran hp-check -i as root to see what the output was as when it finished I saw the following lines that worried me: error: sane-devel SANE - Scanning library development files REQUIRED - - MISSING 'sane-devel needs to be installed' error: libnetsnmp-devel libnetsnmp-devel - SNMP networking library development files REQUIRED 5.0.9 - MISSING 'libnetsnmp-devel needs to be installed' error: python3-notify2 Python libnotify - Python bindings for the libnotify Desktop notifications OPTIONAL - - MISSING 'python3-notify2 needs to be installed' error: python3-pyqt4-dbus PyQt 4 DBus - DBus Support for PyQt4 OPTIONAL 4.0 - MISSING 'python3-pyqt4-dbus needs to be installed' error: python3-pyqt4 PyQt 4- Qt interface for Python (for Qt version 4.x) REQUIRED 4.0 - MISSING 'python3-pyqt4 needs to be installed' Followed by: ----------- | SUMMARY | ----------- Missing Required Dependencies ----------------------------- error: 'libsane1-devel' package is missing/incompatible error: 'sane-backends' package is missing/incompatible error: 'libnet-snmp-devel' package is missing/incompatible Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 3.19.3 How reproducible: All the time. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install hplip and hplip-gui. 2. Run hp-check -i as root. 3. Voila! Those errors will appear.

There's a package conflict between libsane1-devel and lib64sane1-devel that also needs to be adressed at the same time.
This is completely invalid as this is as this from some years now. Also we don't want to install unneeded "devel" packages in a normal user system!
