While trying to install borgbackup: # urpmi borgbackup A requested package cannot be installed: borgbackup-1.1.8-2.mga7.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied python3.7dist(msgpack)[<= 0.5.6]) Continue installation anyway? (Y/n) y While some packages may have been installed, there were failures. A requested package cannot be installed: borgbackup-1.1.8-2.mga7.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied python3.7dist(msgpack)[<= 0.5.6]) Continue installation anyway? # ...and: # rpm -q python3-msgpack python3-msgpack-0.6.1-1.mga7 # It looks like this is sort-of-intentional; there are very specific versions of msgpack that the Borg developers consider acceptable, and the next version (1.1.9) of borgbackup takes this even further by failing its build tests if it encounters the wrong version. FWIW, at this point in time Fedora does not have a solution for this either, as far as I can tell; their 1.1.9 version that's in testing only seems to use Requires: to demand an msgpack version <= 0.5.6.

(In reply to David GEIGER from comment #2) > Should be fixed with borgbackup-1.2.0-0.a4.1.mga7! As far as I look at this,: http://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/mageia.org/distrib/7.1/SRPMS/core/release/borgbackup-1.2.0-0.a4.1.mga7.src.rpm This version is already in Core repository for Mageia 7. I think this was opened when M7 was Cauldron. Closing this as it has been released "as is" in Mageia 7.
