Description of problem: I install version 6 on my laptop. It does a few updates at the end of the install. After rebooting and logging in, it installs nearly 1000 updates. Then, upon rebooting, the thing stops at the fourth blue dot. Going into "recover" for desktop 4.14.100 recover, it stops at "Can't disable ASPM; OS doesn't have ASPM control. If I don't use "recover" it goes to the fourth blue dot and stops. It will boot fine into 4.9.35. This is on an ASUS X533M laptop. It is a 3rd gen Pentium machine. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: I have installed three times and it does this EVERY time after the updates. Steps to Reproduce: 1. boot Windows CD and wipe out the partition. 2. install again, reboot, install updates 3. won't boot after all the updates.
It may have had a bug in kernel 4.14.100 initrd creation. Can you try to remove it and resintall it? Also maybe yuo can try with MGA7 Beta Live media?

Did you try that, Robert, boot with kernel-4.9.35, then remove kernel-4.14.100, then add kernel-4.14.100 again and reboot. If that doesn't work, then please, right after a failed boot, boot with kernel-4.9.35 again, open a terminal/konsole, become root and run: journalctl -ab -1 > log.tx and attach log.txt to this bug report. Thanks for your cooperation. Marja
