Font dialog of Libreoffice - Build ID: 6.2.1.1-5.mga7 (120.16 KB, image/png)

Details

Description Béat E 2019-03-09 17:02:16 CET
Description of problem:
In the font dialog the dropdown list for the languages exceeds the Libreoffice window and even the desktop screen. (see screenshot)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Libreoffice Version: 6.2.1.2, Build ID: 6.2.1.2-1.mga7

How reproducible:
When I am editing a Libreoffice text document and choose to change the language, language field in the font dialog is unusable because only the top entries are shown and there is no scrollbar. The problem appeared for the first time about one or two weeks ago.
I have no idea whether it is a mageia or a libreoffice bug.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a new text document in Libreoffice
2. Open the dialog box for fonts
3. Choose a language (dropdown field)

Can't recreate the problem here in a Mageia 7 x86_64 Plasma install.

While no scrollbar is normally visible, placing the mouse cursor over the list
and moving the wheel causes it to be displayed and moved. It then vanishes after
about 3 seconds of no mouse wheel movement.

May also be due to screen dimensions. What is the resolution set to?

Here is the screenshot from Libreoffice 6.2.1.1. Yes, I was wrong about the scrollbar because there is none. But there are arrows at the top and the bottom and the edges of the dialog box are rounded. Furthermore I can scroll with the wheel (in fact with my two fingers on the mouse pad). With the package 6.2.1.2-1.mga7 scrolling doesn't work. There is really something wrong here.

Here, in libreoffice-6.2.1.2-1.mga7, using the Dutch interface and with Xfce as DE and SDDM as DM, scrolling through the languages in that dialogue works fine. I can also select a language by typing its name.

Assigning to the registered maintainer of LibreOffice, anyway, in case he can reproduce the issue or figure out why it hits Béat.

I can't reproduce the bug the same latest version in portuguese : scroll works, and arrows appear.

It looks like the problem is only on my notebook. I removed the Libreoffice configuration directory and started with a fresh Libreoffice Writer. Everything worked fine. I could choose the language without problem. This means that the problem is in my configuration files. To fix this I will set up Libreoffice anew.

I suggest to close this bug. I someone else encounters the same problem you can open this bug again.

Thanks for your help!
Béat
