Details

Description PC LX 2019-02-28 14:19:11 CET
Description of problem:

When upgrading a Mageia 6 to Mageia 7/cauldron I see the following error message:

lib64hdf5_10_10-1.8.21-2.mga7.x86_64 (due to conflicts with lib64hdf5_103-1.10.4-1.mga7.x86_64, trying to promote libhdf5_fortran.so.10()(64bit))

How reproducible:

Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start with a Mageia 6 with the package lib64hdf5_10-1.8.15-3.mga6 installed.
2. Remove the Mageia 6 repositories.
3. Add the Mageia 7/cauldron repositories.
4. Update the system (urpmi --auto-update).
5. See the error mentioned above.

There's no registered maintainer for hdf5, but there is one for hdf5_10_10, so assigning to him.

CC'ing the last one who pushed hdf5 in cauldron

Please provide the full error message, as on MGA7 :

urpmi lib64hdf5_10_10 lib64hdf5_103

works, both install without any conflict.

There are no file conflicts, both packages can be installed at the same time, looks like an urpmi bug?

Nop at all!

You are mixing two separate things. Both versions can coexist on Cauldron, but when one updates from mga6 to mga7 there are file conflicts as hdf5_10's lib pkgs are wrongly named and thus files are provided by a multiple pkgs.

I will take a closer look to rename lib pkgs and check if something else is needed.
