Description Levchenko Roman 2019-01-10 20:28:08 CET
Description of problem:
It is impossible to find any samba servers in local network at “smb://” with Dolphin, or with other file manager.
But if you know samba server name, tape “smb:// smb_server_name/” - the shared sources are visible and accessible.
Reinstalling the library package lib64smbclient0-4.7.12-1.1mga6.x86_64.rpm with file replacement, from the different source – did not help.
Some lines about problem from KSystemLog, at the moment of getting samba shares list at “smb://”:
10.01.19 20:09	kdeinit5	kio_smb: Using libsmbclient library version 4.7.12
10.01.19 20:09	kdeinit5	kio_smb: Detected broken libsmbclient version 4.7.12
10.01.19 20:09	kdeinit5	kio_smb: auth_initialize_smbc
10.01.19 20:09	kdeinit5	kio_smb: smbc_init call
10.01.19 20:09	kdeinit5	kio_smb: QUrl("smb:/")
10.01.19 20:09	kdeinit5	kio_smb: checkURL QUrl("smb:/")
10.01.19 20:09	kdeinit5	kio_smb: Using libsmbclient library version 4.7.12
10.01.19 20:09	kdeinit5	kio_smb: Detected broken libsmbclient version 4.7.12

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
update samba client with lib64smbclient0-4.7.12-1.1.mga6.x86_64.rpm to ver. 4.7.12. and try to see the samba shares list at “smb://” in local network, that usually must be visible.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. update samba client to ver.4.7.12 with lib64smbclient0-4.7.12-1.1.mga6.x86_64.rpm
2.try to see the samba shares list at “smb://” in local network

Assigning to the samba maintainers, CC'ing the KDE maintainers.

@ KDE team and Buchan:

Please reassign if that should have been the other way around.

Also in thunar, i think is a change in the default max protocol i put near to workgroup =

max protocol = NT1

restart samba and works again (it ask for user and password even for resource where is not needed -public read/write access in the windows machine- but thunar gives option to use the actual user and just have to type my password)

This message is a reminder that Mageia 6 is end of life.

Mageia stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Mageia 6. At that time this bug will be closed as OLD (EOL).

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to
fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later
Mageia version prior to Mageia 6's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we cannot
be able to fix it before Mageia 6 was end of life.
If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia, you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version of Mageia.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime,
sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia
release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
