Kicad have improved massively, and mga7 should be released with 5.x Currently at 5.0.2; http://kicad-pcb.org/blog/2018/12/KiCad-5.0.2-Release/ A backport to mga6 would also be nice. Optimally if 5.1 is released mga7 could carry it - depending on development struggles as we all know... https://forum.kicad.info/t/it-seems-5-1-might-come-quite-soon-goal-is-to-have-the-release-by-fosdem-2019/13162

I agree. In fact, I have ported several of my schemas and layouts from Geda (pcb) to Kicad. Decision not based on a judgment of the quality of the of the user value of the respective cad products, but rather on release policy and responsiveness of package maintenance to technical progress.

Great and thanks! I will do some testing in production conditions as soon as I am back home (weekend / next week). Juergen
> I will do some testing in production conditions I abandoned - I have not used kikad for quite some time, and did not realize that with the new library stucture I need to heavily invest in updating my private component libraries - which I cannot do right now. Sorry for the unkept promise.
