Advisory: Updated virtualbox packages fixes missing kvm auto-detection. Virtualbox was missing proper detection of kvm support in Mageia kernels, causing it to run in legacy mode. This update fixes it so it can use the enhanced performance of virtualization-capable hardware. Host hardware: Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB RAM, Intel graphics, wired Internet. Intel DQ45CB motherboard, Virtualization active. Guests: One 64-bit MGA6, Plasma, tainted activated One 64-bit MGA6, Plasma, tainted inactive One 32-bit MGA6, Plasma, tainted activated Used QA Repo to update all systems, using the package lists in the Description. Everything seems to work. I don't have any definitive benchmarks, but there seemed to be a significant improvement in startup/shutdown times. I'm taking that to indicate that virtualization is working where it didn't before.
