Description peter winterflood 2018-11-25 18:40:32 CET
Mageia-7-beta1-i586.iso Sat Nov 24 17:15:51 CET 2018
Pentium 4 3.2 gig northwood hyperthreading , MSI-6763 , 4 gig ram, nvidia GT7300 60 gig SSD. status mga7-beta1 testing
issue with the following 32 bit PC

graphics at 1024 x 768 60 hts 24 bit noveau driver flashing triangles in plasma covering most of screen, or partial depending what is up.

for example start menu, small black or yellow triangle size of top of menu x half top of menu above menu, other times, plasma/kde settings, gets intermittent black box covering whole of plasma settings section leaving plasma mageia blue background still showing.

took graphics down to 16 bit to see if that helps, but alas under 16 bit just a black screen.

works ok with icewm at 16 bit, however at 24 bit icewm background does not refresh and keeps getting layered with any prior pop up, window etc graphics left overs
including sddm login screen
also tried VESA driver, nothing just black screen.

can provide a photo if my description has not already rung bells of previous noveau issues.

Hello,

I have already saw such trianlges in Plasma (Mga6) on my hardware having a NVIDIA card an nividia304 driver. This is solved in my case by setting Xrender as compositer instead of OpenGL2.0.

The nouveau driver is not working, I get straight crash of plasmshell.

Reassigning as this is a driver/hardware problem.
