Description Cristian Pîrîu 2018-11-05 16:44:30 CET
Description of problem:

It's a feature request, please enable zswap by default, I've tested this feature on two laptops (mechanical HDD) with excelent results. "Cold start" of programs is the same, but on "hot starts" all programs is much, much faster. Maybe is even better with l4z and z3fold options.

Comment 1 Thierry Vignaud 2018-11-07 13:10:11 CET
CONFIG_ZSWAP=y is enabled in the kernel
So it's not a kernel issue.
What you want is for it to be enabled in userspace by default.

Comment 2 Cristian Pîrîu 2018-11-07 13:53:34 CET
Yes, indeed. It offers tangible performance to most programs. With l4z and z3fold options by default, if possible.
