Description Walter Müller 2011-08-06 10:22:08 CEST
gimp runs well without ufraw-gimp. After having installed ufraw-gimp you cannot open images.
Comment 1 Samuel Verschelde 2011-10-01 17:00:43 CEST
Assigning to gimp maintainer.

@ Walter

Do you see any messages when starting gimp from the konsole/terminal and trying to open an image?

@ Shlomi

Is there a chance gimp-2.6.11-7.1.mga1.x86_64.rpm from updates/testing solves this problem (in other words: does it make any sense to ask Walter to try that package?)

@ Marja

I just reinstalled ufraw-gimp and tried to open jpeg-files. There was no problem at all. Why, I don't know. All runs well now. Thank you.

I tried also to open a raw-file with gimp. Only, when I change parameters with Lenses ufraw-gimp crashes.

@ Walter

OK, thanks for the feedback. So there is still an issue left.

Which versions of gimp and ufraw-gimp do you have, now?

Please attach a backtrace of the crash, if you know how to do that.

If you don't know, please start reading here https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Debugging_software_crashes
and wait for the assignee of this bug to ask you for one.

@ Shlomi

can you reproduce this, or do you want Walter to get a backtrace? If Walter should get one, which debug packages should he install at least?

Where can I find such a raw file? Walter, can you upload a raw file that reproduces the problem somewhere?

hello, by starting gimp in textmode, I get the following text, when I try to change settings for lens by opening a raw-picture such as picture.raf "/usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/ufraw-gimp: fatal error: Speicherzugriffsfehler"

I'm using now gimp 2.6.11 7.mga1 with the ufraw-gimp 0.18 1.mga1.

@ Walter

Can you please attach a small raw picture to this bug report, so that Shlomi can use it to reproduce the problem?
Comment 9 Walter Müller 2012-01-10 19:17:15 CET
Sorry, I tried to load up an attachment, but the raw-file is too large (10 MB). I don't know how to compress it. Perhaps you have a camera with the possibility to take photos as raw-files? That would be the easiest way.

I don't know if my camera can do that. You can send me the raw file to my GMail account: shlomif@gmail.com .

Thanks!

OK, I got Walter's RAW file in my email. Running "gimp DSCF2832.RAF" works perfectly fine in both Mageia Linux Cauldron on x86-64 and on my Mageia Linux 1 VM with all updates installed. I am able to view the RAW picture, press OK, and load it into GIMP.

Walter, can you try running it in a new UNIX user account and on LXDE?

@ shlomi fish

ok, loading the picture and even manipulate the picture is no problem. Have you tried to manipulate the image by pressing the Third button "correcting lenses" (Linsenkorrektur) and then "Fuji" for camera and "Standard" for "lens" (Linse) in the Button (list of possibilities) (Handsymbol), here I get a crash. It seems depend on the chosen possibility, when you take "generic" all runs well, but when you take the name of a camera (Fuji ...) and then "standard" (Lens), the program will close.

This appears to work perfectly fine with GIMP-2.7.x on Mageia Cauldron. I can try it on Mageia Linux 1 in an i586 VM too, but I'm not too keen to debug it there because GIMP-2.8.x should be released soon, and you can upgrade to GIMP-2.7.x from source.

@ Shlomi

Is there a possible relation with bug 3683?
Comment 15 Funda Wang 2012-02-01 11:39:22 CET
Would you mind to test if installing lensfun (and liblensfun0) from core/updates_testing?

@ Walter

Somehow you forgot to reply to comment 15

Those packages are in updates now
lensfun-0.2.5-1.1.mga1
liblensfun0-0.2.5-1.1.mga1

Did they solve this problem for you?

@ Marja van Waes and @ Funda Wang

I'm really sorry about my forgetting, I already updated to the newer version of lensfun and liblensfun, but I had to much trouble in different things.

I jsut tested it and I've found, that it works fine now.

Thanks a lot

Best Regards,

Walter
