Description Support at DBCobol 2018-10-03 14:34:21 CEST
Using Mageia 6. Firefox 60.2.1 upgrade via mgaapplet two days ago is unusable.

New tab doesn't work, and all previously functional add-ons are rejected.
New interface is unitelligible and unnecessary.

How reproducible:
Just try it.

Work-around:
Unistalled 60.2.1 and reverted to 52.9.0 from firefox-52.9.0-1.mga6.i586.rpm, and lost all history and bookmarks. Restored the latter by overlaying from backup.

Firefox 60.2.1 should be removed from automatic update until fixed.

Sorry, but there is nothing for us to do here…

Firefox ESR 52 is not supported anymore, so its getting insecure, and several sites does not work with it anymore…

Firefox ESR 60 and up (technically since FF57) wont support old extensions anymore, they need to be ported to the WebExtensions API:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-add-technology-modernizing
https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2017/10/03/legacy-add-on-support-on-firefox-esr/

So Contact the developers of problematic/needed/wanted extensions about that…

You might want to try this:
- Open a new tab and type about:support
- Click on Refresh Firefox...
