Description of problem: i get the note that there is a fatal error, the rpm database could not be opened Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): I am using mageia 5, i have been re-installing it after i was updating to mageia 6.i was having strong troubles with that update, like flickering screens when running on plasma, as well as the system was sticking at times How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
It's supposed to reinit the db itself if rpm detects it's corrupted. As it doesn't seem to be working, try running (as root) rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db.00?

Unfortunately, Carl, Mageia 5 is no longer maintained, so we need to close this report as OLD. Please ask in the forums for help if you still have issues installing Mageia 6. https://forums.mageia.org/en/ Maybe one of the just released Mageia 6.1 LiveDVDs works better for you?
