Description of problem: Firefox 52.9.0 is unable to load videos from certain websites such as www.ina.fr. The website will ask the user to update Firefox to version 60 or higher in order to be able to load the videos. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Firefox 52.9.0 (latest version available on Mageia 6) How reproducible: Every time I attempt to view a video from this website. The same error message is printed, no matter which video I'm trying to watch. An earlier version of Firefox (61.0.2 ESR installed in /opt for testing purposes) fixes the problem and the videos can be loaded with this earlier version. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Connect to http://www.ina.fr and select any video available from their archives. 2. For example, http://www.ina.fr/video/I05108716/pierre-desproges-et-thierry-le-luron-entretien-au-coin-du-feu-video.html
It's not outdated. We do have ESR releases of Firefox as well.

You're right, 'outdated' is not the correct word :) Yet, I've tried the User-Agent Switcher module to change the User-Agent to Firefox 61 and the videos still don't load, so I think there is new functionality in version 61 that we are currently missing.
Summary: This (outdated) version of Firefox cannot load videos on certain websites => Version 52.9.0 of Firefox cannot load videos on certain websites

Yes, it is time to upgrade Firefox to 60 for Mageia 6. nss needs to updated first, and the Thunderbird 60 update will need to be provided at the same time. We'll also possibly need to (and should if possible) update sqlite3 and libpng too.

BUG FIXED : Steps to reproduce: 1. I activated Core Update Testing in MCC and searched for firefox. 2. I ticked the updated version (60.2.0) 3. The following dependencies were automatically selected and installed: - firefox-fr-60.2.0-1.mga6.noarch - lib64hunspell1.6_0-1.6.2-1.mga6.x86_64 - lib64nss3-3.36.5-1.1.mga6.x86_64 - lib64sqlite3_0-3.22.0-2.1.mga6.x86_64 - sqlite3-tools-3.22.0-2.1.mga6.x86_64 4. Launched Firefox using my usual icon in the taskbar and visited the link I suggested as an example. The video is loaded and can be watched without any problem. Other videos from the same website also work. Thank you!
Installed and tested both 32- and 64- bit firefox (32 in vm) Jetstream OK, Acid3 to 97%, general browsing and video OK. Older thunderbird works normally with current nss version, hunspell and sqlite updated normally. To my eye, both are OK and ready to push, but I'll defer to David's expertise.

I'd like this to be pushed too without thunderbird : I am trying to build TB 60 for some days and it will still needs some more days to even build! As for the Paris picture, it seems it needs Flash player plugin?
Based on the information I've gathered over the past year or so, it's not safe to update this without TB. That's why nss had been stuck at 3.28.x in mga6 until now, because newer versions aren't supposed to be totally compatible with 52.x.

José, there are now have 4 bugs assigned to QA for this update. Could you decide on one please and alter the rest.
Apologies, it is just freshplayerplugin.

The freshplayer plugin works OK with both Firefox 52 ESR and the Firefox 60 ESR that's in testing, in both 64 and 32 bit systems, so I've validated it. That one could be pushed once the advisory has been added, as far as I can see.

As it is now out, I have pushed a build of ESR 60.2.1 which brings come more bugfixes. Suggested advisory : Firefox 60 is now the only supported version of the ESR series and it brings a completely new browser engine, designed to take full advantage of the processing power in modern devices. Firefox also now exclusively supports extensions built using the WebExtension API. This update brings Firefox 60.2.1 along with the needed updated libraries : - NSS 3.36.5 (fixes CVE CVE-2018-12384) - Sqlite 3.22.0 - Hunspell 1.6.2
Updated to Firefox 60.2.1 this morning, and picked up nss as well, which apparently I had missed the last time I updated. Curiously, when I updated before, selecting Firefox 60 brought up the language packs, hunspell, and sqlite as dependencies, but apparently not nss. Selecting FF60.2.1 this time did not flag it, either. Brings up the point that all related packages need to be listed plainly in the bug, so that testers can do a proper job. Be that as it may. So far, so good on my Probook 6550b in 64-bit. Using it to make this report.
(In reply to David Walser from comment #17) > Based on the information I've gathered over the past year or so, it's not > safe to update this without TB. That's why nss had been stuck at 3.28.x in > mga6 until now, because newer versions aren't supposed to be totally > compatible with 52.x. Don't know where José left off, but thunderbird builds up to the point where it tries to do something with lightning and then fails with "make: *** No rule to make target 'libs-ca'". I don't see a libs-ca in a filename or a reference to libs-ca in any file anywhere in the source tree. This is not something I know how to resolve.
I guess thats because there are no thunderbird 60 tagged in hg yet... and reading thunderbird 60.0 releasenotes: https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/60.0/releasenotes/ only 60.1 will be considered an official upgrade from 52.x As for David's comments about thunderbird needing to go out at the same time due to nss update... I'm not sure about if that is still true ... meaning I'm running firefox-60.2.1, nss-3.36.5, sqlite3-3.22.0 and thunderbird 52.9.1 and I dont see any issues with it so far ...
Ping Is this ready for assigning to qa? It doesn't seem to interfere with thunderbird 52.9.1

I'm not willing to wait further, so recommending the 6.1 iso images go ahead and be released with firefox 52.9 on them.
I'm sorry I missed the fact it was not assigned to QA. Now it is, and it has already get a lot of tests at least in 64 bits...
