I can't find dkms-qc-usb in recent Mdv, but dkms-syntek is still there

I have packaged the 1.8 version of dkms-cq-usb-messenger, but can't find any usable license details - any help appreciated.
The mdv license was "GPL" which is not valid for Mageia.
Once the correct license is found it will be ready to push to Cauldron.

The upstream source in http://home.mag.cx/messenger/source/

The license in the source package is gpl v2
According to http://mageia.org/wiki/doku.php?id=licensing_policy and
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html#GPLCompatibleLicenses
gpl v2 is acceptable for Core.

Thanks for being interesting in my problem
Comment 7 Dave Hodgins 2011-11-08 17:41:00 CET
For the dkms-syntek, the upstream source for the driver itself seems to be
http://sourceforge.net/projects/syntekdriver/
which states it's released under both the bsd and gpl licenses,
so it's ok for Core as well.

Should a separate bug report be opened for that package?

Yes - maybe best to leave this one as it is and open another package request for dkms-cq-usb-messenger, with a link to it here.

Created Bug 3312 for dkms-qc-usb-messenger

Note qc, not cq. :-)

dkms-syntek is now available in Cauldron core/release.

Yee but in Cauldron the dkms-syntek is too old, and it's don't work witch kernel 3.x. We must have dkms-syntek 3.0.0 r107 from http://syntekdriver.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/syntekdriver/tags/3.0.0/.
Please it for both arch i586 and x86_64.
thx

Sorry, it is 4 months later now. What Barry meant were issues existing when the package was just pushed.

Can you please open a new bug report?

Product: Mageia
Component: rpm packages

Just file a bug for not working dkms-syntek and explain that dkms-syntek version 3.0.0 r107 fixes it
