Description Bit Twister 2018-04-16 04:37:30 CEST
Description of problem:

Unable to dd large iso to usb thumb drive. Can do a small iso.
Commands and journal in attachment.

Large iso will hang the dd process and will require a kill pid to regain terminal control.

usb drive is no longer readable/writable/mountable.

Have bricked 7+ usb drives testing on two different desktops.

This is an XFCE DE only install with bug 3667 workaround fix installed and rebooted.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible: always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. click up a root terminal and run
   journalctl --no-hostname -fa --no-pager &

2. click up another root terminal.
3. insert usb drive and NOTE: dev/xxx which you may have to change of=/dev/sdg

3. dd bs=1M if=/dev/zero conv=sync,noerror of=/dev/sdg count=1
   works

4. dd bs=4K of=/dev/sdg conv=sync,noerror if=Mageia-6-x86_64-DVD.is.
causes the journal errors and will take a kill
