Hi, I'd like to integrate OnlyOffice within my Nextcloud installation. Things could be easier with an rpm package. Regards. Xuo.
According to the FAQ of OnlyOffice ( Seen here: https://helpcenter.onlyoffice.com/faq/faq.aspx ) I saw this: "The source code is listed on SourceForge and distributed under GNU Affero General Public License terms." I couldn't find any source code to be compiled in Linux, only Windows. What does OnlyOffice do for companies that Libreoffice can't do?

@ Kristoffer It's for Linux, too https://fosspost.org/reviews/programs/onlyoffice-another-free-office-suite-linux It provides server and cloud solutions, which, AFAIK, LibreOffice can't and for which reason Xuo (Eric) needs it: (In reply to Eric from comment #0) > Hi, > > I'd like to integrate OnlyOffice within my Nextcloud installation. I'm not sure whether more onlyoffice packages are needed than just onlyoffice-owncloud and onlyoffice-documentserver, was doing too many other things to read it well. Assigning this package request to all packagers collectively. On a voluntary basis, one of them might, if there are no license or other legal issues, want to integrate it to the distribution and maintain it for bug and security fixes. You might also want to join the packager team to maintain this piece of software: see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager

No harm meant for asking, but wouldn't Syncthing be a more feasible option to do that? https://syncthing.net/
Hi, syncthing is just a synchronization tool (I use it and it works fine). My goal is to be able to open a LibreOffice file when I'm under nextcloud in Firefox for example, without the need to use the local LibreOffice tool (if available on the PC I'm connected to). This is not a 'save my life' request. It's just for fun. I tried a few months ago to install the CollaboraOnLine package with docker but I couldn't make it work at all. I 'think' it could be easier for me to do the job from an rpm package. Regards. Eric.

If not done already, i suggest asking Nextcloud forum. Because this is a bit special request a lot fewer will need than those using Nextcloud, and our devs are overloaded already. But anyway, if you solve it you are very welcome note the solution here or https://wiki.mageia.org/en/OwnCloud or https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Nextcloud :) Did you try https://help.nextcloud.com/t/libreoffice-online-please/361 , https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/94294/how-can-i-integrate-libreoffice-with-nextcloud-for-free-is-there-a-free-solution/ ?

Hi, No, I didn't try this solution but I tried a few weeks ago having a look at others web explnations. And as usual, I couldn't make it work. For me, docker is a kind of nightmare. It is the reason why I've asked again for an rpm package. If I can find a solution (one day), I'll obviously post how I did. But at the moment, I don't know how to do it. Regards. Xuo.

In Mageia 8 I presume we will have NExtCLoud 18, also marketed as Nextcloud Hub OnlyOffice can then be installed easily as two apps: https://nextcloud.com/blog/how-to-install-onlyoffice-in-nextcloud-hub-and-new-integration-feature/

Hi, I could successfully install Nextcloud 18 + the OnlyOffice application as described in this page : https://nextcloud.com/blog/how-to-install-onlyoffice-in-nextcloud-hub-and-new-integration-feature/ Thank you for sharing the news. Regards. Xuo.
Great then :) As we are low on manpower and better focus more on getting mga8 out (which thus will fix this bug that way) i sett this as wontfix. BTW how did you install NC18 on mga7? If you have the time, you could maybe do some update on https://wiki.mageia.org/en/OwnCloud (which i created most of when i used OC/NC) or build on https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Nextcloud which i have hard to find time for...

Hi, I've just upgraded from NextCloud 17.2 to 18.0 and now to 18.0.2 through the Web installer. About an install from scratch, honestly, I don't remember exactly how I did the first time. As far as I remember, it is quite well explained on the NextCloud web site (https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/18/admin_manual/installation/). I remember the updates were not possible from the Web site. It is the reason why I wrote a tcsh script to do the job, but now, it is really quite straight forward to do an update. I'll have a look at the wiki page to see if I can update anything. Regards. Xuo.
Hi, One thing I have forgotten : it is still necessary (at least for me) to modify the file lib/base.php according to the following post (https://www.mageialinux-online.org/forum/topic-26353+nextcloud-vs-locales.php). Regards. Xuo.
OK, thank you :)
