Description Frédéric "LpSolit" Buclin 2018-03-11 16:30:37 CET
The cauldron installer ignores the keyboard I selected, aka Swiss french (fr-ch). It looks like it uses the french keyboard (fr-fr), meaning that I don't know where accentuated letters such as é, à or è have gone.

I tested with current Mageia-Cauldron-netinstall-nonfree-x86_64.iso (md5sum: 8466a910d1294ad9ca5f7d651d234096)

Please attach /root/drakx/report.bug.xz from that install.

Is the keyboard wrong in both X and in a VT?

Do you manage to switch to the Swiss French keyboard with keyboarddrake?

I re-enable bug 23632 because it is a regression, even if the cause seems to be the same.

It would still be nice to get that file!

I had misunderstood this bug, Georges' report was more clear, so forget about my other questions.

Is this still valid in current cauldron?

Frédéric, you surmised it was using the French keyboard layout, but is it actually using the US keyboard layout? If so, this is probably bug 23877. If you switch to vt2 and the keyboard layout is correct, and if the keyboard layout is correct when you boot the installed system, that would be confirmation.

I have excellent news about this bug:
I just installed Mga7rc from Mageia-7-netinstall-nonfree-x86_64.iso (date: June 02nd). I selected the French language and the French keyboard, and when the installer asked for users and passwords, the keyboard layout was correct.

Of course, you might want to double-check this, just to make sure the problem is not with the Swiss layout in particular... but I can tell the installer did not ignore the French layout I selected.

I hope LpSolit will reply whether or not he still has this issue.

Thanks for the reminder, Marja. :) I didn't try with the netinstall ISO again, so I don't know if this is still a problem. Let's close this bug.
