I assume, that it's a question of the connection editor under (Network Symbol) -> WiFi Settings, as I am not a regular Gnome user. I am testing in a Gnome only user. When I turn WiFi On and Off, Networkmanager connects and disconnects to my wifi. Mageia net-applet is disabled in all my real HW installations. Testing mga6 64. I use NM and nm-applet with Mate DE. Installed all rpms and updated to new ones. Rebooted. As it's to do with vpn's, tested with a vpn I've previously played with but never successfully connected to (bad login details likely) and the applet disappeared. Started from cli and repeated. Confirmed this is a regression from current version. With existing nm-applet the connection simply times out and fails to connect.
Nice find, and seems there is a fix in upstream master branch... new package coming
