Description of problem:
I cannot start VLC on my Mageia 6 system (with Gnome 3.24.2). When I try to start VLC on command line, it produces the following output:

Available platform plugins are: eglfs, linuxfb, minimal, minimalegl, offscreen, xcb.

Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
