The "mgaapplet-update-checker" program crashed. Drakbug-17.88 caught it. I did nothing, app crashed doing its automatic updates, did not click etc. detecting looping forever while trying to resolve dependancies. Aborting... Try again with '-vv --debug' options at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.22.2/x86_64-linux-thread-multi/URPM/Resolve.pm line 1287. Do you keep getting this error after rebooting your system, or does updating work fine then?

> It came up after rebooting, when the app runs by itself. I took it as a clue there were updates, manually updating via drakconf went without issues. I did not retry starting the app. FWIW, IMHO it should either pop up a notifier, or automagically download/install (configurable)

(In reply to Marja Van Waes from comment #4) > *** Bug 23379 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** That was in Cauldron and it is actually perl-URPM that crashes. I don't remember having seen that anyone tried to run urpmi or "urpmi --auto-update" or so with '-vv --debug' options, as the crash reports seem to suggest. It was maybe wrong to close reports about this "detecting looping forever while trying to resolve depend?ncies" crash as duplicates, because even if a dependency hell shouldn't make perl-URPM crash, the packages that cause it to crash probably need to get fixed, too.
