Description Tamás Hajdu 2017-11-04 21:11:13 CET
Description of problem:
The installer does not find the wifi device (in my case the only net device), so it can't install the system.
According to dmesg it tries to load iwlwifi, but it fails, with no siutable drives found. It tries a couple of ucode files before telling that (10-15 I did not count)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
6

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use a laptop with intel 7265
2. Boot nonfree 64bit netinstall image
3. wifi is not detected

Same happens in stage2 with the DVD installer.

That's bug 18662, which needs someone with time to fix it.

That is expected, stage2 does not _use_ any nonfree software, even if it does allow to choose to install nonfree software, so that it can be used after booting into the newly installed system.
