Description of problem: Yesterday I updated my system after not having used it in a couple of weeks. Today when I booted it up, it could not detect any WiFi networks. So I rebooted and selected the previous kernel, and that works properly. Obviously some issue with the kernel module for my ‎RTL8188CE 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter prevents it from detecting networks. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Kernel-4.9.56 How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. Find a laptop with the correct hardware 2. Install Mageia 6 with latest kernel 3. Reboot for kernel-4.9.56
please attach output the files lspcidrake.bug21941 and journal.bug21941 by doing: reboot into the non-working 4.9.56 do theese commands (as root): lspcidrake -v > lspcidrake.bug21941 journalctl -b -0 > journal.bug21941

Strange - worked today. Had to boot 4.9.50 first so that I'd have a copy of Thomas message to read, then rebooted to 4.9.56 ... some firmware issue? I'll try a cold boot later. Hmm ... the network applet is only showing the network I am connected to, not any of the other nearby networks. Well, we'll see later.
This message is a reminder that Mageia 6 is end of life. Mageia stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Mageia 6. At that time this bug will be closed as OLD (EOL). Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Mageia version prior to Mageia 6's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we cannot be able to fix it before Mageia 6 was end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia, you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version of Mageia. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. -- Mageia Bugsquad
