Description Georges Eckenschwiller 2011-07-18 16:25:30 CEST
I use commonly a USB key.

After Thunar configuration, this key is correctly mounted.

But its icon does not appear in the panel, as was the case with Mandriva.
This icon is very convenient because it facilitates the dismounting after use.

Did you use the same versions of Thunar and Xfce in Mandriva?
Which versions, exactly?

I'm sorry for the delay in replying.
Since systemd has become the default boot, I have problems with lxdm and I no
longer tested xfce

No, of course, the versions are not the same.

But my question is:
Is not the specific configuration Mageia which must show the icon in the dashboard, as for example mgaonline?

@ Georges,

Thx for replying.

TBH, I don't know the answer to your question, I don't have it in KDE, don't miss it and don't remember it was ever there (in Mandriva or Mageia) but, maybe I've only forgotten because I never used it ;)

One of the first things I always do, after installing, is add Dolphin (filemanager) to the task bar. I use dolphin to go to my USB key, other partitions or external HD, and to unmount them :)

Closing this bug report, anyway, because if it is a bug it isn't confirmed it is still there and if it isn't a bug, there is no point in leaving it open as enhancement request since you don't use xfce anymore.

When needed it can be reopened :)

Hello,

In fact I may have found the reason for the absence.
I saw that there is, in xfce, an archive-file named xfce4-volstatus-icon.

This is a plugin that does not seem to be maintained and used hal.
It is therefore obsolete.
