Description of problem: I just downloaded a mp4 file using svtplay-dl and got no error doing so. I decided to play that mp4 file with VLC and as the clip started all I could see was a scrambled picture that wouldn't disappear even after playing it for 10 seconds. Playing the same file with mplayer from the terminal works just fine so we can rule out a damaged file download. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 3.0.0 How reproducible: Everytime I play the file. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open terminal. 2. Login as root. 3. Install svtplay-dl by typing pip3.5 install svtplay-dl. 4. Go to a On Demand website with free content (I used svtplay.se) 5. Play any clip. 6. Copy the adress in the adress bar. 7. cd to Videos/ 8. Type svtplay-dl <paste your link here without the < and >. 9. Hit Enter. 10. Open the downloaded file with vlc. 11. Voila! The clip is scrambled. 12. Play the same clip using mplayer and the clip isn't scrambled.

Any news to this? I've seen this error on new installations of Mageia 6.
(In reply to Kristoffer Grundström from comment #3) > Any news to this? I've seen this error on new installations of Mageia 6. Hi! Sorry - I didnt notice. Some comments: 1. Please post a sample .mp4 file on a web site, so we can download it. Your instructions are too involved and errorprone. 2. Does it happen with mpv? 3. Does it happen with other --vo backends?

The thing is, it's not every mp4 file that gets this issue in VLC. The same file plays just fine in Totem. > 2. Does it happen with mpv? Haven't tested with a mpv-file yet. > 3. Does it happen with other --vo backends? Such as?

Mageia 6 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2019-09-30. It is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Mageia version. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we weren't able to fix it before Mageia 6's end of life. If you are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia, you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version of Mageia. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. If you would like to help fixing bugs in the future, don't hesitate to join the packager team via our mentoring program [1] or join the teams that fit you most [2].
