Description William Kenney 2017-10-14 04:46:25 CEST
Description of problem:

When you first launch me-tv it asks for the location of the channels.conf file. One source tells me that historically me-tv had this function built in. It no longer does. Mageia installs dvbtune I think for this function but according to:

https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Dvbtune

"dvbtune is outdated".

This bug asks the maintainer of me-tv what is the way that the channels.conf file is generated.

Summary: me-tv, how can we generate channels.conf => me-tv, how can we generate the channels.conf file

w_scan -ft -c $isocode -X > channels.conf maybe ?

There is no registered maintainer for me-tv.

Thanks, Manuel.

@ Wilcal

Does that do the trick?

Well that gots things moving again. Thanks, w_scan is
in the repo and after installing that I was able
to at least get things going. More testing needed.

If someone installed me-tv how would they know that they
needed to install w_scan too?

It should be added as dependency, changing the summary (even if I understand more is needed than just letting me-tv pull in w_scan)

Summary: me-tv, how can we generate the channels.conf file => me-tv lacks dependency on w_scan (needed to generate the channels.conf file)

I agree. But, I really need more time to tinker with this to make sure I understand it and all the packages it needs to make work.

I'm watching American Baseball on my M6 server with Kaffeine. :-))
