Description Grigory Maksaev 2011-07-18 02:39:55 CEST
Grsynk from the official repo doesn't create an entry in KDE menu.
All the rest is OK, starts from the terminal and works.
Comment 1 Dave Hodgins 2011-07-18 04:26:46 CEST
It does, but it only shows in Gnome.

I'm not sure, but maybe this is more KDE problem than problem in Grsync. There's nothing "weird" on grsync.desktop file or nothing that should prevent it being visible in KDE menu.

Also, I have one machine with XFCE and Grsync is showing correctly there.

Comment 3 Jani Välimaa 2011-10-11 16:15:38 CEST
Actually I think all this is caused by a "GTK" entry in Categories line in grsync.desktop file.

Pushed new release [1] which should fix this to core/updates_testing. Please test it.

Tested on x86_64. Menu item is created in KDE. Grsync seems to work fine.
But there is a funny bug again, sorry:
In the Edit Applications menu, on the right panel with the command and location there is no icon for grsync. However, it instantly appears if I click on the icon box. But after I switch to a different application and return to Grsync, the icon is gone again.
I attached the screenshot.
The small icon in the menu is always present.
Maybe it is some weird thing in KDE or in my particular system, but grsync is the only app that displays this behaviour.
On the other hand, many people will not notice that at all :-).
Comment 8 claire robinson 2011-10-15 11:32:26 CEST
I can't reproduce your problem Grigory. I think it is probably an effect of having the program installed with no icon originally. You may find uninstalling grsync completely and reinstalling will solve it.

Grsync is present in the menu i586 too and tested OK so I'm going to validate the update.

Advisory
---------------

This update corrects an issue with grsync where it was missing an entry in the menu for KDE.

SRPM : grsync-1.1.1-2.1.mga1.src.rpm

Could sysadmin please push from core/updates_testing to core/updates

Thankyou!

That's OK, it may be a problem of my KDE installation or anything...
Thank you!
