I installed jdownloader and it seems ok.

Jdownloader is very good to me but .... I think that stable packages like fatrat must be an existing option in any serious Linux OS. There are a lot of users out there they already have a good/close relationship with such packages. I used to work with fatrat with Debian, Fedora , Ubuntu, Antix, Linux Mint and other main and secondary Linux OSs with new , old and very old computers. Why not with Mageia 1 or .... Mageia 2 ? I noticed the same with handbrake , unicovnverter and other packages.
The situation is, Mageia doesn't have infinite ressources, so only a limited, but stable and working set of packages could be imported. Now it's up to the whole community to improve on that. Handbrake is in the pipe, but there are some license/patents issues, so this still takes some time. So if you still need fatrat, i'll give it a shot.

Setting version to cauldron, because package requests will usually be done for cauldron first and then be available in next stable release @ Fanourios Attard: can you please reply to the question in comment 6 ?
Version: 1 => Cauldron
No reply, so I understand you are content with jdownloader and with handbrake being on it's way. Closing as wontfix

(In reply to comment #8) > No reply, so I understand you are content with jdownloader and with handbrake > being on it's way. > > Closing as wontfix FWIW, handbrake was removed due to carrying bundled faac copy, which makes it tainted+nonfree, which is not allowed due to our policy.

Assigning this package request to all packagers collectively. On a voluntary basis, one of them might want to integrate it to the distribution and maintain it for bug and security fixes. You might also want to join the packager team to maintain this piece of software: see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager

This project died in 2018. No active fork left. Handbrake is in MGA repositorys. Closing WONT.
