Description of problem: from 2017-03-01 (Cauldron) to today (Mageia6), at boot, I still see this black screen with a few errors before normal session opening. I finally manage to grab them to you : # cat /var/log/dmesg | grep -Ei error\|exception [ 0.021457] ACPI Error: [\_SB_.PCI0.XHC_.RHUB.HS11] Namespace lookup failure, AE_NOT_FOUND (20160831/dswload-210) [ 0.021463] ACPI Exception: AE_NOT_FOUND, During name lookup/catalog (20160831/psobject-227) [ 0.021502] ACPI Exception: AE_NOT_FOUND, (SSDT:xh_rvp08) while loading table (20160831/tbxfload-228) [ 0.028254] ACPI Error: 1 table load failures, 8 successful (20160831/tbxfload-246) [ 0.448515] acpi PNP0A08:00: _OSC failed (AE_ERROR); disabling ASPM [ 1.256539] [drm:i915_gem_init_stolen [i915]] *ERROR* conflict detected with stolen region: [0xc6000000 - 0xc8000000] How reproducible: Every time at boot, and when dm.service is stopped or restarted Steps to Reproduce: 1. boot on my PC my PC is : Mageia 6 - 64bits - KDE/Plasma - Compiz ASUSTeK H110T - Intel® Core™ i3-6100T 3.20GHz - 8Gio DDR4 Intel Corporation HD Graphics 530 (rev 06) Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-H HD Audio (rev 31)
Assigning to the kernel & drivers maintainers for the ACPI errors. About the drm:i915_gem_init_stolen error, there is an upstream report https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98683 I don't know why it was closed while it was known that the issue still exists for many systems.

Thanks reporting this, These ACPI reports refer to Firmware bug. Please update your BIOS following your motherboard's or PC manufacturer. Linux kernel has no resource to catch all firmware bugs. When manufacturers will write code more efficiently world will be better. (Sorry for humour).
