Description of problem: We are presently using openshot 2.3.4 Openshot is shipping 2.4.0 which fixes a lot of bugs. Openshot run on real hardware works fine except for numerous bugs. If you run Openshot in a Vbox client ( Plasma or Mate ) you cannot import a video or audio file to work on. May be fixed by going to 2.4.0
http://www.openshotvideo.com/2017/09/openshot-240-released-improved.html Sounds like a pure bugfix release to me. Assigning to the registered maintainer.

openshot-qt now up-to-date on Cauldron and also on mga6/Core/Updates_testing repo. Please test this new bugfixes release, thanks!
Don't forget to assign to QA and provide an advisory if you don't want it to stay forever in updates_testing.
In VirtualBox, M6, Plasma, 64-bit Package(s) under test: openshot-qt install openshot-qt from updates testing [root@localhost wilcal]# urpmi openshot-qt Package openshot-qt-2.4.0-1.mga6.noarch is already installed Upon launching Openshot-qt the following error message is displayed: "Version 0.1.8 is required, but 0.1.7 was detected. Please update libopenshot or download our latest installer."
Are we missing some libraries here?
(In reply to William Kenney from comment #0) > If you run Openshot in a Vbox client ( Plasma or Mate ) you cannot > import a video or audio file to work on......... Very interesting issue here. I tried Openshot 2.3.4 in a Vbox client on my Nvidia based platform and it worked just fine. But on my Intel graphics platform it does not work. All my prerelease testing was done on the Nvidia platform so that's why I missed it.
So ok, libopenshot (0.1.8) is now up-to-date on mga6. Please test it, thanks in advance! - openshot-qt-2.4.0-1.1.mga6.noarch.rpm - libopenshot13-0.1.8-1.mga6.i586.rpm - python3-libopenshot-0.1.8-1.mga6.i586.rpm - lib64openshot13-0.1.8-1.mga6.x86_64.rpm - python3-libopenshot-0.1.8-1.mga6.x86_64.rpm

While my initial testing looks fine for the update I need to do some additional testing here to identify the Vbox wrinkle and look at it on real hardware.

This update looks very stable. Very much better then openshot-qt-2.3.4-2. There are still a lot of issues with Openshot 2.4.x but it's becoming a vert usable Video Editor. Probably the best that can be had on Mageia. Unless there are objections I will validate this update in 24-hours
This update works fine. Testing complete for MGA6, 32-bit & 64-bit Validating the update. Could someone from the sysadmin team push to updates. Thanks
