Recent updates fixed the problem. There were nine packages to update. One was kernel update and rebooting took very long time $ uname -a Linux AMD_x2 2.6.38.8-desktop-4.mga #1 SMP Fri Jul 8 01:37:23 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
