Description Samuel Verschelde 2011-07-15 23:36:16 CEST
Tremulous 1.1 is the latest stable release. It has already several years, but 1.2 is still under development and will be released when it's ready, which is a very unprecise date.

Mandriva, OpenSuse, Debian, Ubuntu ship tremulous 1.1

Currently we have the 1.2beta1 version, which is both a beta AND old. There would be advantages to revert to 1.1 :
- we have no guarantee that 1.2 final will be out when Mageia 2 is released, which means we might ship a develpment version in the stable release,
- most players still use 1.1, so Mageia users won't be able to play with them on the online servers,
- I don't think we must put 1.2beta1 in Mageia 1 updates, whereas we could push 1.1 as it was available in Mandriva 2010.2 and missing from Mageia 1. If we keep 1.2beta1 in Mageia 1 we'll have to package 1.1 in the 1/updates branch.

Tremulous 1.1 has unsolved bugs with current build tools. I does not start. I packaged 1.2 like Fedora because it is the upstream advice.
