Description of problem: When booting up LUKS ask for a password, in this dialog backspace generate a character (new dot shows up) instead of deleting one. On fedora backspace works fine at LUKS password dialog. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): probably dracut-044-11.mga6 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. boot LUKS encrypted hdd 2. type password, make a typo, try to delete it with backspace 3. backspace generates a character and the password will be wrong
This doesn't only happen when trying to boot a LUKS encrypted disk, but also when trying to log in in a VT (you can test this by switching to tty3 and logging in there with a typo in your password that you correct before hitting enter: it won't work... the only difference is that you can't see how many characters you typed). You've reported this before for cauldron, though. Closing this report as duplicate of your former bug report. I'll set that one to "MGA6TOO" *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 20250 ***
