Description salim salim 2011-07-15 22:15:48 CEST
there i a good feature at network center

it can be used to automating the contacting to network directly without user interfering (( as i think ))

but this feature doesn't work many times

you can find this feature on its applet by right clicking its icon

then choose the name (( watched interface )) at settings

================

i am with you that this feature works fine after starting up mageia

but it will not work (( some times )) if the connection has been cut

@ Salim,

Sorry for responding so late.

When I right click on the net applet, choose settings and then watched interface, I can (on my system) choose between eth0 and wlan0.

When I choose wlan0, the applet changes into 1/8th of a "wheel with green circles", when I choose eth0 it changes into a globe with a little green v-sign in it. That's correct, both interfaces work. When one of them is down, I see the globe with a little red cross.

I think the feature you needed, is this one:

When I go to active interfaces, I can choose to enable or disable eth0 or wlan0. I think this is what you were looking for. It works well.
