Description of the problem: I have seen the problem with two different laptops: one with a fresh MGA 6 installed from scratch the other with a MGA 5 updated to 6. kdeplasma addon provides an applet to watch the system load either with bars, discs or compact bars. With the last option you can choose to have one bar for each CPU. At first it is working fine, but I did not notice when, the applet stop showing any CPU bars when the option to show one bar per CPU is selected. Version-Release number of selected components (if applicable): 5.8.7-1.mga6.x86_64 How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install kdeplasma-addons-5.8.7-1.mga6.x86_64 2. Add System load applet to the desktop or kicker 3. Select compact bars in applet conf. 4. Wait 5. after some time no CPU bars are visible 6. You can try to check and uncheck the several CPU option: the bar is shown when unchecked, bars are missing when checked.

Indeed I pin pointed that it is a conflict between applet “System load” and applet “Thermal monitor.” It was quite difficult to narrow the very step to reproduce the bug. After several tests on fresh Plasma sessions here are the steps to reproduce the bug anytime: 1. add the “System load” applet to Kicker 2. setup the applet to show compact bars and tick also separate CPU (it is a translation from French “Séparer les processeurs”) → it is showing CPU use with one bar for each CPU 3. On the desktop add the applet “Thermal monitor” 4. Disconnect and reconnect 5. Applet “System load” is not showing the CPU use anymore
Summary: Plasma applet system load fails to show 1 bar per CPU => Plasma applet system load fails to show 1 bar per CPU (conflict with applet Thermal monitor)
This message is a reminder that Mageia 6 is end of life. Mageia stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Mageia 6. At that time this bug will be closed as OLD (EOL). Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Mageia version prior to Mageia 6's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we cannot be able to fix it before Mageia 6 was end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia, you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version of Mageia. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. -- Mageia Bugsquad
