As per http://linux.slashdot.org/story/11/07/14/0210259/Adobe-Released-64-bit-Flash-For-Linux?utm_source=rss1.0&utm_medium=feed flash 11 is being released. Note that it has both i586 and x86-64 versions available. http://digitizor.com/2011/07/14/install-64-bit-flash-11-ubuntu-11-04/ describes how to install it on ubuntu. I haven't yet found any downloads available on the adobe.com site.
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer11.html It's in beta, but might be still good for 64-bit systems where at the moment is nothing. Better beta than nothing.

Apparently (from a thread in cam.misc,comp.os.linux.misc, there are some sites such as http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/india/8636111/Mumbai-blasts-coordinated-attack-by-terrorists-says-minister.html that are working in the 32 bit version of flashplayer11, that are not working with the 64 bit version. It may be better to continue to use the 32 bin version for both versions of Mageia.
I think offering only the 64bit version of 11 beta1 is a good idea. The 32bit version will still be there for the odd web site that doesn't work with 64bit 11, users can install whichever they want. Not having to use nspluginwrapper, or a 32bit browser on a 64bit system is an improvement. @ennael: any objections about providing 64bit 11 beta 1 in mga1? ExclusiveArch: x86_64, we keep the stable 32bit flash for i586.

I'm already on it and testing it locally, if everything is going well it could be available tomorrow.
Flash Player 11.0.1.152 has been pushed to mga1 nonfree/updates_testing. Advisory: ============ According to Adobe, Adobe Flash Player 11.0.1.152 contains new features as well as enhancements and bug fixes related to security, stability, performance. This release also includes a native 64-bit plugin, and that is now available in the x86_64 version of the flash-player-plugin package. 64-bit flash-player-plugin-kde is now also provided. Users of the 32-bit (i586) plugin package on x86_64 installations are advised to remove the i586 flash-player-plugin package and install the x86_64 flash-player-plugin package instead, for optimal performance and stability. To check if you have the i586 or x86_64 version of the flash-player-plugin installed, you can use the Install & Remove Software tool (RPMDrake) and search for flash-player-plugin, or run this command in a terminal: rpm -q --qf '%{arch}\n' flash-player-plugin References: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/919/cpsid_91932.html ============ Updated Flash Player 11.0.1.152 packages are in mga1 nonfree/updates_testing as flash-player-plugin and flash-player-plugin-kde, on both i586 and x86_64. Advised tests to run: 1. Check that Flash applet works. 2. Check that right-clicking an applet and selecting "Global settings" opens the settings dialog. 3. If on KDE, check that the above works both with and without flash-player-plugin-kde package.

What was not the case before. - Check That year applet right-clicking and Selecting "Global settings" opens the settingsalog. -> It does not open. 2° Flash-player-plugin-kde Same thing no problem. - Check That year applet right-clicking and Selecting "Global settings" opens the settingsalog. -> It opens out the module "flash-player-plugin-kde" B) On konqueror, I can not launch a flash video. PS: system 32 bits, kde 4.6.5
Ok sorry for the noise, my http mirror is not update since the 05/09 :/ . HELLO, Is it normal that it is marked r1 (release candidate 1?) -> Shockwave Flash 11.0 FlashShockwave r1 Or then the r1 = final ?
RC normally stands for Release Candidate. R1 seems to stand for Release 1. This is the first final release for Flash Player 11, you should ask that to Adobe why they put that r1 there.
It stands for the third component of the version (X in 11.0.X.Y), which is 1 in this case.
So far it work just fine for both i586 and x86_64 Mageia 1 installation.

Tested on Mageia release 1 (Official) for x86_64 and it work perfectly. For me it's good. -Flash-player-11 work correctly. -Integration KDE work correctly too.

Did you restart Firefox after installing/upgrading flash-player-plugin? Did you wait several seconds (there is a delay on opening the settins dialog)? If so, can you try again, and select Global settings several times if it doesn't open the first time?
Did you restart Firefox after installing/upgrading flash-player-plugin? YES Did you wait several seconds (there is a delay on opening the settins dialog)? YES If so, can you try again, and select Global settings several times if it doesn't open the first time? NOT OK I tried again by erasing flash-plugin-kde. The "global settings" does not open I reinstalled "flash-plugin-kde", the window "global settings" opens soon
As usual, tested at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ and youtube.com, in both firefox and opera. I also noticed the kde application is now under systemsettings/Network and Connectivity, instead of the root of systemsettings. Update validated. As we have no means to make those advisories visible to the user for now, maybe we should add a README.urpmi that explains how to do for 64 bits users ?

I got those messages during installation: Adobe Flash Player installation successful. nspluginwrapper: no appropriate viewer found for /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so What does it mean?
/var/lib/rpm/filetriggers/nspluginwrapper.script tries to wrap 64-bit flash plugin even while we our nspluginwrapper doesn't have a x86_64 npviewer built and thus doesn't support 64-bit plugins even on x86_64. That is a separate bug (of nspluginwrapper), and the solution would be to a) make the script ignore 64-bit plugins if there is no 64-bit npviewer, or b) add 64-bit npviewer.
As for README.urpmi, it is IMHO unfeasible to this as it would be shown for 32-bit users as well. However, we can add a simple warning in stderr (even if GUI updater still doesn't show it). I'll consider that for the next update.
(In reply to comment #24) > That is a separate bug (of nspluginwrapper), and the solution would be to a) > make the script ignore 64-bit plugins if there is no 64-bit npviewer, or b) add > 64-bit npviewer. Does this need another bug report, or is it already on someone's todo list?
Florian Hubold might be looking into it, but a bug report wouldn't hurt I guess.
Ok, I'll let someone who understands the problem create it.
As comment 23 is a separate problem, not directly related to this update, and comment 22 is not a regression, lets go ahead and validate the update.
