Description Ahmed Louali 2017-07-26 13:00:14 CEST
Since the new Mageia 6, there is no more BasKet rpm.

This software is excellent, and alternatives are far from its functionalities.

After a message in the forum, it seems BasKet is no more maintained, and only for KDE 4.

But it seems there is a fork with recent developments :
https://github.com/basket-notepads/basket

and a promising kde5ports branch :

I'll look into this.

I've packaged the "kde5ports" branch of basket-notepads in Cauldron and Mageia 6 core/updates_testing.

SRPM: basket-2.49-0.20170225.1.mga6

RPMs in Core Updates Testing:
basket-2.49-0.20170225.1.mga6
lib(64)basketcommon5-2.49-0.20170225.1.mga6

Could you try this new version and check if it seems functional? Note that it's a much newer version than the 1.81 Mageia 5 had, so you might want to backup your ~/.local/share/basket and ~/.config/basket in case it can't migrate the data properly.

There are also some known issues with translations, reported upstream: https://github.com/basket-notepads/basket/issues/34

I've just tried it and it works very well on Mageia 6 64bits !

I have previously backuped my Basket data folder, and then I did menu Basket > Backup and Restore > Use another existing folder...

I confirm there are problems with translations, almost everything is in english instead of french, but it's not very important for me.

I'm very happy to be able to use BasKet again, thank you very much for your work !

Thanks for the testing, assigning to the QA team for validation and marking as OK on 64-bit.

Advisory:

Reintroducing basket in Mageia 6 with KF5 port

The basket package had been obsoleted prior to Mageia 6's release due to it
being KDE4-specific. Since a new KF5 port is available (see reference), it
is being reintroduced as an update.

Since the QA backlog is heavy already, validating this one with one test.
