System log showing fault

The fault occurs shortly after logging in from the GDM login screen. Sometimes it occurs before the desktop is displayed, sometimes it is delayed long enough to let you briefly use the desktop. The relevant error message in the journal is:

kernel: resource sanity check: requesting [mem 0xf9fcf000-0xfa0cefff], which spans more than 0000:02:00.0 [mem 0xf8000000-0xf9ffffff 64bit]

(full log attached)

This doesn't occur when running GNOME on Xorg. It also doesn't occur when running a Live system, but does occur on a system installed from the Live DVD. I've not yet managed to isolate what makes the difference in these two cases.

It seems it is auto-login that makes the difference on the Live system. Logging out and in again triggers the bug. Similarly, set the installed system to auto-login and there's no sign of trouble.

Assigning this bug to the kernel and drivers maintainers, even if reading this makes me wonder whether they're the right assignee :-/

Fixed in cauldron, as tested with Mageia 7 beta 3 GNOME Live.
