"Register" link in forum (English and at least German) show "Acess Forbidden!" instead of link to https://identity.mageia.org/register
Comment 1 Maat 2017-06-07 12:29:04 CEST
Hi all,

I changed the links in english forum administration board

There are 3 files to update in styles > templates > the template > edit

1) index_body.html
2) overall_header.html
3) login_body.html

What to do in these files :
. Search for href="{U_REGISTER}"
. Replace it by href ="https://identity.mageia.org/register"

And submit, that's all

What i don't understand is the reason why this setup gets overriden from time to time.
If we could understand that i guess we could get rid of this problem easily and for good.

I assign the issue to the doktor5000 for a heads up so that the /de/ forum is also dealt with

Then i guess we'll be able to close the issue. A little bit of help from sysadmin would be great for the definitive solving.

Bests,

Reverting Status to "NEW", because the current assignee didn't set the ASSIGNED status.

I'll ping Florian on IRC

Maybe this can/should be fixed in puppet?

still not solved in the German forum: https://forums.mageia.org/de/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3194&p=34866#p34855

Well, at least it should be automated in some way, even if it's just a simple script with an sed one-liner or something like that.
After the last phpbb update, this broke the password reset function in international forum again, see bug 21144, and this is still broken.

Currently the "I forgot my password link" points to https://forums.mageia.org/en/ucp.php?mode=sendpassword which will obviously not work, even though for a casual forum user it seems to do something and send an activation/password reset link, but that cannot be used at all.

I really do wonder why we do have the phpbb templates in git, if we have to edit them manually directly on the server - what is the point of having them in git in the first place?
Already asked in bug 21144, as this could be changed in http://gitweb.mageia.org/web/forums/tree/phpBB/styles/prosilver/template/login_body.html#n26 and then be pushed into the forums VM via git.
