Hi. I am installing MGA6 in qemu as a test and couldn't find Openbox. Opted for Fluxbox for now and will install Openbox when the installation has completed. Image used is 59M May 26 03:08 Mageia-Cauldron-netinstall-nonfree-x86_64.iso
@ Stig-Ørjan Days have passed since you filed this bug report, but I still haven't found time to try to reproduce it, as I intended. Do you mind telling where you selected Fluxbox and how you tried to select Openbox during install? Please do also attach /root/drakx/report.bug.xz from the installed system. Thanks :-)

I selected Fluxbox from the "Other" section. Chose not to install Plasma or any other DE.

It's over a year later, and I keep forgetting to try to select Openbox during a network install :-( I was pretty sure I had installed Openbox with classical installer in the past, but can't find anywhere in the meta-task log that it was dropped or replaced. It seems my memory is fooling me again :-/ IIUC, for it to be one of the "Other Graphical Desktops" in the screen you get after choosing "Custom" for Desktop Environment, it should have been listed here, like fluxbox http://svnweb.mageia.org/packages/cauldron/meta-task/current/SOURCES/rpmsrate-raw?revision=1230564&view=markup#l50 But it isn't listed anywhere in meta-task. I think if you add it to line 52 of rpmsrate-raw: 3 afterstep fluxbox openbox that it won't affect the classical ISOs. However, I'm not _sure_ about that, so assigning to the isobuilders for their feedback.

However, I'm not _sure_ about that, > so assigning to the isobuilders for their feedback. I meant: not sure that doing that doesn't mean the classical DVDs will need to grow with openbox & its dependencies. However, the last stable ISOs did _already_ contain openbox and at least some of its dependencies (*imlib2_1*, obconf, ...) ftp://ftp.snt.utwente.nl/pub/os/linux/mageia/iso/6/Mageia-6-x86_64-DVD/Mageia-6-x86_64-DVD.idx And, funny, it did also contain afterstep, but not fluxbox. So, adding openbox to rpmsrate-raw with weight 3 cannot increase the size of the classical ISOs Stig-Ørjan, if no one replies that you shouldn't add it, then I think you can go ahead and add openbox to Cauldron's rpmsrate-raw to see whether that solves this bug.
openbox is required by lxde-common, and hence by task-lxde-minimal, which is why it is present on the ISOs. IIRC, if you install LXDE, you get the choice of using Openbox as your window manager. Or maybe I'm misremembering, and it's LXQt that gives you that choice. Either way, it should be quite safe to add openbox to CAT_GRAPHICAL_DESKTOPS in rpmsrate at level 3.

Thanks all. I've appended openbox to rpmsrate-raw in section CAT_GRAPHICAL_DESKTOP. Cheers, Stig
Fixed. See Comment 7

Othre desjtops are managed in /usr/share/meta-task/compssUsers.pl but we don't want to have too many choices there
