Description mnaud mnaud 2011-07-09 14:48:32 CEST
Description of problem:

mail-notification does not work properly,

1 /:
the configuration is possible only if mail-notification-evolution-5.4-15.mga1 is installed (i guess it's only a rpm depenancy which is not correctly set)

2 /:
when the icon applet is active mails are correctly detected, icon change or appear as needed.
The problem appear when you open you mail reader to open all your new mail, the mail-notification application does not remove the indication of new mail and the software stay in this state till you restart the application.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
mail-notification-5.4-15.mga1

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install and configure mail-notification-5.4-15.mga1 (am using imap)
2. send you a mail and wait for mail-notification to detect it
3. open your mail reader / read or delete the new mail
4. have a look to the mail-notification : nothing change, it always indicate 1 new mail with the description of the mail you have read or delete.

Assigning to maintainer now that our maintainers database has an entry for
this package. Please assign back to bugsquad@mageia.org in case of a mistake
from me.

Can you strace mail-notification to see what it is waiting for?

Pinging, because nothing has happened with this report for more than 3 months, it still has the status NEW or REOPENED.

@ mnaud mnaud

Do you find time to do that?

am sorry, i have recently the birth of twins at home ....
so i don't have any time to this manipulation.
(mean that i don't have time to do somethings for myself ;-)

hope someone can help you and reproduce the trouble
Comment 6 Marja Van Waes 2012-02-18 22:21:30 CET
Congratulations with the twins :)

We don't have people around that we know of, that have the same problem with mail-notification as you have, so there is nothing we can do with this report atm.

Maybe this bug gets fixed along with the other buggy things in the software.

Closing this bug report as OLD, because the maintainer of this package can't do anything without additional information.

Anyone experiencing this problem in an updated release of Mageia: feel free to reopen this report and supply the information asked for in comment 2
