Thanks for the report. For the reference, were you able to login in the past (more than one month ago)? Or was your Mageia Identity account registered recently?

Comment 2 Jybz 2017-05-09 11:51:48 CEST
I don't remember if I have already logged in the past. Probably never on wiki.
The account is 'not' recent, perhaps 3 or 4 months.
Comment 3 Marja Van Waes 2017-05-14 10:03:17 CEST
This bug is still valid, the same error message still appears when trying to log in with an account that's new to our wiki:

Auto-creation of a local account failed:
   Automatic account creation is not
   allowed.

(In reply to Zombie Ryushu from bug #20897, comment #0)
> Due to bugs in sssd version 1.9.x, included in Mageia 5.1, sssd does not
> properly enumerate LDAP based users and groups. In Particular, sudoers do
> not work at all. I request sssd be upgraded to 1.12 to fix this issue.

Is there any chance that bug #20897 is related to this wiki bug?
Comment 5 Antony Baker 2017-07-21 13:39:23 CEST
I created an account yesterday, and on trying to log in to the wiki, I get the output as described by Marja in Comment 3.

Can we give a workaround to this problem?
We need collaboration to maintain our wiki, not only the old contributors can do it.

It is likely that the Assignee is already aware of this information, but thought I would highlight it anyway:

I have had a browse, and there are several areas that might be useful, but perhaps the most promising section:

I can also confirm that this is still an issue. I have brought it up a few times on #mageia-dev.. hopefully I'm not annoying people to much but it's user facing and there's been stuff I wanted to update, but haven't been able to. It's been a bit of a determent for contributing.

Comment 11 Antony Baker 2017-08-20 17:13:25 CEST
Just tested. I can confirm that this is no longer an issue for me, as I am now able to log in.

Thank you very much for fixing this.

Note that this bug was deliberately made valid again, to stop the spam wave we had at the end of last week.

That means neither good new users, nor spammers can now log into our wiki.

Yesterday, stormi and neoclust have worked on much better measures to control spam.
