The Mate maintainer and/or the Classical ISO builder might be able to tell you, CC'ing them.

Note that it is always a struggle to keep the traditional ISOs small enough to fit on a 4GB USB key, something we still attempt, so a selection between many useful packages has to be made.

@ Sébastien

Are you sure it is missing?

Here, I see mate-system-monitor-1.18.0 on the QA classical isos from April 7
http://madb.mageia.org/package/show/name/mate-system-monitor/release/cauldron

what is the output of

  rpm -qa | grep mate-system-monitor

If it didn't get installed, then please attach /root/drakx/report.bug.xz from your system to this bug report.

BTW, this is simpler & more efficient:
rpm -qa '*mate-system-monitor*'

Or in this case, even more simpler:
rpm -qa mate-system-monitor

Hello,

I actually installed mate system monitor, present in the repositories, but that was not present during my installation.
I have a similar case with Eye of Mate (eom) installing individually via the depots and absent from the original installation.

Regards,

Sébastien.

Comment 6 Thierry Vignaud 2017-04-25 09:24:48 CEST
mate-system-monitor is required by task-mate but we only install task-mate-minimal
I left it to mate manager to decide whether it should be in task-mate-minimal or not

Source RPM: mate-system-monitor => task-mate

Assigning to the Mate maintainer for a decision.

Comment 8 Sébastien B. 2017-04-25 18:45:22 CEST
Hello,

Thank you both for this information.
I did not "specifically" choose the minimum installation of the Mate environment.
When selecting the working environment, I chose "Mate" simply, which gave me this installation.
Must it be understood that the minimum task is the expected default installation of the environment?

Regards,

Sébastien B.
Comment 9 Thierry Vignaud 2017-04-25 23:55:46 CEST
That's correct, installer only cares about task-mate-minimal
Comment 10 Sébastien B. 2017-04-26 08:56:35 CEST
Hello Thierry,

Thanks for your reply, is it the desired functionality, or is it a "bug"?
Because I believe that the installer does not install the "task minimal" with the other environments?

Sébastien B.
Comment 11 Marja Van Waes 2017-04-26 13:46:44 CEST
@ Sébastien

Gnome, Plasma5 and Lxde have both "task" and "task minimal"
Cinnamon, Mate, and Xfce have only "task minimal"

We intend to thoroughly review what'll be on the isos after Mageia 6 release (so in time to do any needed changes before Mageia 7)
