Description Nicolas Peifer 2017-04-22 14:15:30 CEST
Description of problem:
Every time I boot mageia I am prompted for the password of my NAS (network attached storage) device (FritzBox 7490) which I once configured via Mageia Control Center. There is no way to disable this behaviour via Mageia Control Center.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
?

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure a NAS in your network via Mageia Control Center | network sharing | Configure NFS shares.
2. Reboot.

@ Nicolas

Reading our documentation, it seems there is no option to add a username and password for the NFS share http://doc.mageia.org/mcc/5/en/content/diskdrake--nfs.html

I could suggest to add something like ",username=xyz, password=abc" manually in the matching line in /etc/fstab, as a workaround, but here
https://en.avm.de/service/fritzbox/fritzbox-7490/knowledge-base/publication/show/26_Configuring-a-USB-storage-device-connected-to-FRITZ-Box/
NFS isn't mentioned, only SMB is:

"If you would to prefer to use the Windows Explorer, macOS Finder, or another application that uses the Server Message Block protocol (SMB), you can also configure the USB storage device connected to the computer as a network drive."

And as you can see in http://doc.mageia.org/mcc/5/en/content/diskdrake--smb.html
it is possible to add password an username for your NAS there.

So you can also try whether removing the NFS share and adding your NAS as SMB share works better.

@ mageiatools maintainers

Is it possible to add an option to add login credentials for an NFS share with diskdrake --nfs?

Comment 2 Nicolas Peifer 2017-04-23 11:50:36 CEST
@Marja: Oh sorry, you are right, it's Samba (not NFS).

My NAS is already configured as Samba share in Mageia, at least there is the following line in /etc/fstab:
//fritz-nas/FRITZ.NAS /mnt/FRITZ.NAS cifs username=% 0 0

Removing this line solves the problem for me.

Now I realize that I have deactivated the NAS function of my router because I don't need this function anymore. Nevertheless I get the password prompt during the boot process of Mageia. And when I open Mageia Control Center, I have no opportunity to disable this as the Samba share is not shown there (although there is the line in /etc/fstab which I listed above).

Thank you for having taken the needed time to report this issue!

Did this bug get fixed in Mageia 5? If so, please change its status to RESOLVED - FIXED

If it didn't, then we regret that we weren't able to fix it in Mageia 5. Mageia 5 has officially reached its End of Life on December 31st, 2017 https://blog.mageia.org/en/2017/11/07/mageia-5-eol-postponed/
It continued to get limited extended support since then, but that support has now ended, too.
As a result we are closing this bug report as OLD.

If you still see this issue in a newer Mageia version, then please reopen this report and say so.
