Description Luke Skywalker 2017-03-28 18:40:38 CEST
Description of problem:

I'm trying to load the google page
https://www.google.de/
in Iceape (Mageia's version of Seamonkey).

I'm getting the following error message:

Your connection is not secure
...
Error code: NS_ERROR_NET_INADEQUATE_SECURITY

This basically renders Iceape useless for me, since I'm relying heavily on google.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Iceape is up2date, version 2.46

How reproducible:

I'm using latest Mageia 6 sta, desktop envinronment is lxqt

Just install Iceape via Mageia control center (or via urpmi).

Then start Iceape and load google.de

I didn't find time to install iceape and try to reproduce it, but assigning to the maintainer who'll be able to go to https://www.google.de/ in his iceape :-)

See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1323209

in about:config, set network.http.spdy.enforce-tls-profile to false

That's all I know for now.

Thanks for your reply. I just tried your workaround and it solved the issue. The funny thing is, Firefox has been working out of the box without issues for me, without that workaround. In general I wished that Seamonkey/Iceape would get more love, seems like hardly anyone knows or uses it.

So I assume, the Mozilla developers will have to sort this out.

It will most likely be fixed in the next seamonkey release. I built a patched Iceape package, will try to test it tonight.

Fixed with iceape-2.46-4.mga6, thanks for the bug report. You can reset the network.http.spdy.enforce-tls-profile setting with that package (I suppose it's better to have the feature enabled).
