I added my e-mail to the list because I want to use it as an example for someone that is learning to package for Mageia.

This new packager is learning how to create packages for Mageia and is not ready for the moment to package fotoxx, but I hope he will be able to do it soon.

The package is in Mdv

Setting version to cauldron to improve the chance that someone will package it. When it is in cauldron, it'll be in the next stable release after that, but it is also possible to reopen this request for Mga 1, then.

The package in the repository for Mageia, and it builds locally for Mageia 1 (we don't have backport...).

Unfortunately, recent changes on glib (2.28 -> 2.31) makes that fotoxx doesn't build for Mageia 2.

I contacted the author who uses Ubuntu, and builds packages for all supported version. glib 2.31 is in the next Ubuntu, so the author will likely fix fotoxx for it.

(The packages missing in Mageia 1 but present in Mandriva 2010.2 can go in the Updates. https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Updates_policy#Version_Policy )

I tried fotoxx with mageia 2 rc on my hp 530 laptop. it run very succesfully. I am very glad. Thanks mageia team. :)
