Description Y.LE_NY 2017-03-09 22:39:37 CET
Description of problem:
a) mageia 6 sta2 : drakboot (in drakxtools) in MCC can not show a choice to choose partition where you want to install the bootloader for Grub1 ou Lilo and use an other boot loader like the windows loader to boot and next load the Linux kernel.
b) mageia 6 sta2 : drakboot (in drakxtools) in MCC can not install the bootloader

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
mageia 6 sta 2
drakxtools-curses-17.73-1

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
CASE 1 :
1.Launch drakboot in command line or via MCC
2.select grub with GUI or Lilo for software to use for booting
3.next in boot device, you can only choose /dev/sda for you harddisk or /dev/sdb for a usb key or DVD-Rom reader.
You can not choose, for example, /dev/sda5 where is your /boot partition.

CASE 2 :
ONLY after installing Lilo, I did
1.Launch drakboot in command line (I test with this solution) or via MCC
2.select grub with GUI or Lilo for software to use for booting
3.next in boot device entry, I select /dev/sdb for my usb key where is Mageia 6 files from DVD iso.
4.I click on the Next button
5.Then the drakboot window show all the entries for the bootloader, I click on the previous button.
6. I choose grub with GUI for software to use for booting, AND now for the boot device entry, I have a scroll list where I can choose /dev/sda5 where is my /boot partition.

But with case 1 or case 2, I have the following problem

[root@localhost ~]# drakboot

Note : I have installed Mageia 6 sta 2 minimum installation with minimum packages + X server + docs + urpmi + IcewM for WM WITHOUT Plasma (KDE) and Gnome or others windows managers.
Next after first boot, I have installed task Plasma minimal by MCC in IceWM.

Crazy, now, I need to use a usb key to boot in Mageia 6 and not the windows boot loader.
I have several problems with Mageia 6 that I have not with Mageia 5.

I've explained in the other bug why we don't offer lilo or grub legacy
