If you have both * snd_hda_intel : NVIDIA Corporation|High Definition Audio Controller [MULTIMEDIA_AUDIO_DEV] (rev: a1) * and that Realtek audio chip was the latter then maybe disabled in the BIOS? Maybe disabling doesn't make it totally invisible everywhere? Tbh, I don't even know whether we support having multiple sound cards :-/ You don't mention whether the Nvidia sound works... does it? CC'ing all packagers collectively, there are packagers who understand much more about sound than me :-) Meanwhile, you can already read https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Support:DebuggingSoundProblems And do everything suggested there, but prefix the commands with "LC_ALL=C " and put the commands & their outputs in a new txt document. The content of that document should look like this: [user@localhost ~] LC_ALL=C <command> <the output> [user@localhost ~]$ LC_ALL=C <next command> <next output> [user@localhost ~]$ etc. Please attach that txt document to this bug report. For graphical tools, if you need to show another screenshot: please resize the tool screen to the smallest size that still gives a clear view, before making the screenshot of only the tool screen. It should then be small enough to attach to this bug report.

I'll follow this one. We support several sound cards, the only complexity is that one has to choose to which sound card he directs the sound to. This is the main benefit of pulseaudio, where you can change the sound output on the fly. Video cards with HDMI cable also are seen as audio output, as they allow to send sound to an external tv/amplifier. Can you describe more precisely if you really have added a dedicated sound card, and what configuration has given you some sound?

Hello, Thank you for worked on my problem. Hello, I am in my company, and I have access to the machine only in 8 hours. Like specifies it Nicolas, the correctly functioned sound âBeforeâ. The dysfunction arrived suddenly, without particular action. Nicolas with have the kindness to take the remote hand on the machine concerned, but without success unfortunately. MotherBoard model: https://www.asus.com/fr/Motherboards/M5A88M_EVO/ If i launch Draksound: https://doc.mageia.org/mcc/5/fr/content/draksound.html I do not have the possibility of changing driver. As soon as I have access to the machine I provide what it is necessary like information. Regards, Sébastien B.

In addition, I do not use the HDMI, but a plug "jack". > > Tbh, I don't even know whether we support having multiple sound cards :-/ > > You don't mention whether the Nvidia sound works... does it? > > CC'ing all packagers collectively, there are packagers who understand much > more about sound than me :-) > > Meanwhile, you can already read > https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Support:DebuggingSoundProblems > > And do everything suggested there, but prefix the commands with "LC_ALL=C " > and put the commands & their outputs in a new txt document. > > The content of that document should look like this: > > [user@localhost ~] LC_ALL=C <command> > <the output> > [user@localhost ~]$ LC_ALL=C <next command> > <next output> > [user@localhost ~]$ > etc. > > Please attach that txt document to this bug report. Then also look at alsamixer in konsole, as with F6 you can change the sound card hardware mixers.

I just put a backup image "Clonezilla", which I had previously done with openSUSE leap 42.2 that was present on the computer. There was no problem with the sound. I wanted to check the sound settings of Gnome (opensuse), and since then, it's no longer under opensuse. Therefore, it seems to me more probable a problem of material recognition, than a real problem related to the distribution. What do you think? Cordially; Sebastien.
Hello, After several investigations, it turns out that the chip sound to a material deficiency. Following further tests, on other distributions, as soon as the audio properties are open, the sound "disappears". Mageia therefore can not be faulted. I would like to thank you for the time you have spent. And in a general way, the time you spend to make Mageia better. Thank you for your attention; Regards, Sébastien B.
